Last month we saw 7 foreign movies screened throughout July in Xi’an – with people expecting Disney’s Lion King remake to break box office records. However, this was snatched by Chinese home-grown animation – “Ne Zha”, which became the highest-grossing Chinese animated movie of all time – 2 billion yuan ($288 million). And this month? Lots and lots more animations… and a couple of action movies to boot. What better way to while away the hot and rainy Xi’an.
