Good news! On December 8, Xi’an Metro Line 5 launched a trial-ride experience for medias and citizens, as the first batch of passengers. According to the city plan, three of Xi’an’s metro lines, line 5, line 6 and line 9 will be launched for operations by the end of 2020. By then, Xi’an will have 8 established metro lines (which includes the airport line) with the total mileage ranked as 9th nationwide.
12月8日,西安地铁5号线敞开大门,邀请媒体和部分市民试乘体验,算是正式迎来了第一批客人。按照计划,西安5、6、9三条地铁线将于年底前相继开通,届时,西安开通了地铁线路将达8条(含西安机场城际铁路),总里程数将跃至全国第9。

Fangzhicheng Railway Station – Innovation Harbour of Xi’an Jiatong University

Xi’an metro line 5 is estimated to launch for operation by the end 2020 to establish connection between Fangzhicheng Railway Station and Innovation Harbor of Xi’an Jiaotong University from east to west with a total length of 45 kilometers (28 miles) and 34 stops. Passengers can go to Qinglong Temple, Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Tang West Market by this line. After completion, Xi’an subway line 5 can transfer to line 2, 3 and 4.
